THE “TEXT NECK” SYNDROME

01 Apr, 2019

“TEXT NECK” is a popular new buzzword for describing an overuse syndrome that affects the neck of people who have their head hung forward and down looking at their mobile phones and electronic devices for extended periods of time.

Why it occurs?

When you lean your head forward away from its neutral position, the weight of your head borne by the cervical spine dramatically increases. This causes inflammation of neck muscles, ligaments and nerves, permanent arthritic damage, as well as increased curvature of the spine.

What can I do about it?
